Fitness Together North County Expands Team
and Prepares for Next Social Event
New Team Members Offer Fitness Expertise, Training Experience and a Shared Passion for Philanthropy
FTNC’s ‘Fit Happy Hour’ to be held Thursday, Aug. 30 at Carlsbad Wine Merchants
San Diego, Calif. – Aug. 13, 2007 – Fitness Together North County (FTNC) is proud to announce the addition of three new members to its team: Trish Barney, Lynette Braun and Megan McClay. Though they all share a passion for fitness and health, it is their individual style and personal approach to fitness success which make each of them a true asset to the FTNC team.
Trish Barney, Certified Personal Trainer at FTNC
A former grade school PE teacher and USS swim team coach for five years, Trish Barney has always had a love for life, fitness and the outdoors. Eight years ago, Barney earned her TACE personal trainer certification in Arizona, Colorado and California and has been working with clients of all types and ages since.
A mother of three, Barney has also earned special certifications for working with pregnant women, as well as mountain guide and CPR certifications so that she may incorporate her love for the outdoors into unique fitness training techniques and regimens along the mountains and beaches.
Lynette Braun, Certified Personal Trainer and Office Manager at FTNC
Not surprisingly, Lynette Braun also has a strong passion for fitness and helping others. Prior to FTNC, Braun worked at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas, Calif., as well as in private practice pediatrics where she gained extensive knowledge and education about anatomy and physiology.
A Certified Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise and in the midst of becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, Braun plans to incorporate her understanding of the human body into tailored plans for each client.
Megan McClay, Marketing Intern at FTNC
Megan McClay adds a cheerful and upbeat mood to the gym, motivating clients as they begin their workouts. Her positive energy and passion for fitness is contagious and she has been successfully recruiting new members towards pursuing a healthier lifestyle as the new marketing intern. With a love for health and exercise and dedication to helping others, she plans to earn her personal training certification in the near future and is studying to be a nurse practitioner.
“I couldn’t be happier to have these amazing ladies join our team,” said FTNC’s co-owner and certified personal trainer, Christine Burke. “They are all strong, passionate and dynamic women, but each in their own way, which makes them all the more valuable to our team and our clients.”
While all three women have their own unique approach to fitness, they share a common commitment to philanthropy. Recently, they have joined together to as the “FTNC Team” and will participate in the Susan G. Komen’s 3-day walk, Komen Race for the Cure®, Nov. 4-6 in San Diego, to show their commitment to health and fitness, and support breast cancer awareness.
With the race less than three months away, Barney, Braun and McClay are recruiting additional team members to join them. Individuals interested in this opportunity are encouraged to attend FTNC’s next Fit Happy Hour event, which will be focused on local athletic philanthropic events. Fit Happy Hour will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Carlsbad Wine Merchants in Carlsbad. This event is open to the public and attendees will have an opportunity to sign up for the FTNC 3-day Team, as well as the O’side Turkey Trot which supports local schools and takes place on Thanksgiving Day. Fit Happy Hour will offer wine and appetizer specials, networking opportunities and more.
FTNC offers its clients all the benefits of a full-service gym, with the individual attention and support of a personal trainer who designs a fitness regime to match their specific goals. FTNC’s private studio and certified personal trainers support aspiring athletes who are hoping to increase their endurance, to new mothers who need post-surgery exercise care, to local golfers wanting to improve their performance on the green. FTNC provides the feel of a neighborhood small business, with the backing of a tried and true personal training regime that is the program of choice for thousands across the nation.
