PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Certified Personal Trainer
Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach
Licensed Practitioner of Sport Nutrition
My role as the Program Director of Fitness Together is to keep track on all client programs and make sure they are sticking with a healthy and safe routine. I know if I am doing my job when clients are happy with their trainer, their workouts, and their results. I want all of our clients to reach their goals probably just as much as they do. I also make sure to stay on top of all the latest fitness trends and research so that we are using the best and most successful techniques. I am a Licensed Praticioner of Sport Nutrition through the National Association of Sport Nutrition.
My training for this career started when I was a collegiate athlete. I take pride in being named a Division I All-American in track and field and a 4-time Big East Champion in the high jump. If it wasn't for my dedication to fitness and my workout routine I would never have had the success that I did. Not only did I get the hands on experience of being an athlete, but I also started learning about fitness and earned my B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut. I then went on to receive my Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Florida. During my time at Florida I had the privilege of working in the Strength and Conditioning Division with Recreational Sports, working with students and faculty to help with their fitness goals. Since then I have worked as a personal trainer at gyms, in clients homes, and finally at Fitness Together. I am currently certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and as a personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
During my time as a fitness expert I have had the chance to train in various locations. By far the best place I have been able to train is Fitness Together. You really get a friendly atmosphere here where everyone knows who you are and can keep you motivated. You have the privacy of your own room so you do not have to worry about others distracting you or waiting to use machines and equipment. It truly is amazing how much better of a workout you will get when you do not have to worry about anyone getting in your way or distracting you. Not only is it great for the clients but it is the best place a trainer can work with you. They can set up exactly what they want to do and will be more efficient throughout your workout.
There are many areas of specialty that I offer my clients. Being a C.S,C,S I have an advanced certification in sport specific training. I enjoy training athletes from a variety of sports including track, volleyball, baseball, tennis, golf, basketball, and football. And being a former athlete I know the pressure, dedication, and work ethic that comes with sports. I also offer corrective exercise routines. The most significant benefit with this training is improved posture and functional ability. Training does not have to be for a sport or recreation, it can be simply to improve your daily life or losing weight so your body can function better.
There are a few things that inspire me. I think what mostly keeps me passionate about this field is the hard work that an individual can display. I have seen many great athletes workout and do tremendous things but when an ordinary person gives it everything they have it is amazing. When they work hard in reaching the goal and get the results that they were expecting it is the best feeling in the world. I want every client to be a success story. |
